At Biblioteka Restaurant in the Gatehouse of Książ Castle we host private events exactly where the castle library of the Hochberg family stood for decades. Historic walls and an intimate scale set a stage that turns every celebration into a memorable occasion.

Three rooms for hire in the Gatehouse
Each interior of the Gatehouse suits a group of a different size.
The main hall in the former library seats up to about 50 guests. The mezzanine above it takes about 20, which makes it a natural choice for a business dinner or a smaller family celebration. The third option is the wine cellar in the round Tower, where up to 15 guests can sit comfortably among the oak shelves — for example for a company gathering.

Tell us by phone or through the form a few basics — the type of celebration, the number of guests and your preferred date.
Proposal
Within a day we prepare a menu proposal, a room arrangement and a quote matched to the scale of the event.
Tasting and details
We fine-tune the menu, wines, decorations and schedule together, ideally at a table in our restaurant.
The event
On the day we take care of the whole evening, and your time belongs entirely to your guests.

For coach tours, company groups and larger family gatherings we have prepared three set lunches for summer 2026. Prices and available dates are provided in reply to your enquiry.

Every set comes with our own freshly baked bread and butter.
Good to know
- Dishes in the sets can be swapped for other items from our menu by prior arrangement.
- Additional drinks and alcohol are charged separately, according to the bill.
- The tour guide has lunch on us. Please let us know about any dietary exclusions in the group.
- The castle car park is run by an external company, so please book coach or car spaces in advance. We can add the parking cost to the invoice.
- The deposit and form of payment, including a pro forma invoice, are agreed individually.
Exclusive booking
Each of our spaces, the main hall, the mezzanine and the wine cellar in the Tower, can be booked exclusively, also all together for the whole event. The terms and duration of such a booking are agreed when quoting.
